We aim to ensure that all patients with cancer in the London Cancer region have access to the full range of treatment, therapy and care options of a world class cancer system – no matter where they live or where they are first treated.  Our objectives have been formed to reflect the clear strategic direction provided in NHS England’s Five Year Forward View.

London Cancer’s work focuses on three main objectives:

  1. Innovation and improvement in earlier diagnosis of cancer, with a focus on lung and colorectal cancers (cancers with the greatest potential to save lives).
  1. Support for local improvement initiatives in patient experience
  1. Whole pathway improvement within the agreed reconfiguration of specialist cancer services supporting the delivery by the designated lead trusts.
